What It Does
Render Rally data as a chart. Bar, line, doughnut, pie, stacked bar, and the rest of the Chart.js types. Built on Chart.js v4 as an optional peer dependency.
Two ways to feed it data. Static: pass a Chart.js data object directly. Async: pass a getData function that returns a promise. The component calls it on mount and on every refreshKey change, handling loading and error states without you having to wire any of that up.
Why It Matters for Migration
The original Rally chart component was tied to Highcharts and ExtJS store calculator pairs. Migrating it meant rewriting both the rendering layer and the data plumbing. Chart replaces both. The migration tool detects chart configurations in your legacy code, maps the chart type and series to Chart.js shape, and converts the store query into a getData async function.
What Replaced What
Old: Rally.ui.chart.Chart (rallychart) backed by Highcharts plus ExtJS store/calculator.
New: <Chart> backed by Chart.js plus a typed async data hook.
