What It Does
Render Rally portfolio hierarchies inline. Strategy at the top, Initiatives below, Features under those, then Stories, Tasks, and Defects. Click a chevron to expand a row and load its children on demand. Indentation tracks depth automatically.
TreeGrid composes with Grid rather than replacing it. You get the same column auto-generation, sorting, filtering, editing, and row actions. The hierarchy is just a layer on top.
Why It Matters for Migration
Hierarchical grids are common in legacy Rally apps. PI dashboards, traceability matrices, exportable rollups, capacity views. The migration tool detects parent-child queries in your legacy code and maps them onto TreeGrid configurations.
Lazy Loading
Children load when a row expands, not all at once. For deep hierarchies on large workspaces, this is the difference between a usable widget and a dead one.
