If you're a Rally admin staring down the October 31 App SDK deadline and wondering how many custom pages you actually have, Rally already built you a tool for that. Most people just don't know about it.

The Legacy Custom Pages admin page lets subscription and workspace admins search and view every custom page across their entire subscription. It's been rolling out in phases since early 2025.

How It Got Here

Broadcom didn't ship this all at once:

  • Q1 2025, The admin page appeared. Sub and workspace admins could search and view custom pages for the first time. (release notes)
  • Q2 2025, Admin actions added: deprecate, unshare, and delete. Now you could actually do something with what you found. (release notes)
  • Q1 2026, Visibility expanded to all users. Project admins and regular users can now see their own pages too.

Taken together, you've got a migration inventory tool that didn't exist a year ago.

Why This Matters

Most enterprise Rally subscriptions have hundreds of custom pages scattered across dozens of projects. They were built by different people over different years for different reasons, and nobody has a complete list. Step one of any migration is knowing what you have, and until this tool showed up, that meant writing scripts against the WSAPI or manually clicking through every project.

Now you can search across your whole subscription from one page.

What You Can Do With It

  • Search for custom pages by name across all projects
  • See who created them and which project they belong to
  • Deprecate pages that are no longer needed (marks them but doesn't delete)
  • Unshare pages that were shared more broadly than they should have been
  • Delete pages that are truly dead weight

It won't tell you which pages are critical and which were abandoned three years ago, that still takes a human who knows the workflow. But it gets the list in front of you.

Steps Two Through Four Are the Hard Part

The admin tool handles step one: find everything. Steps two through four, figuring out what's critical, deciding what to rebuild as Custom Views, and actually doing the migration, that's where it gets complicated. We've been doing this work for enterprise Rally teams since before Custom Views existed, here's the whole story if you're curious. Let's talk.
