Buried in Broadcom's Q1 2026 release notes is a small change that matters a lot more than it looks: the Legacy Custom Pages management page is now available to all users. Previously, only subscription and workspace admins could see it.
If you're not sure why that's a big deal, here's what it looked like before.
The Inventory Problem
The October 31, 2026 App SDK end-of-life deadline is seven months away. Every custom App SDK app running on a Custom Page will need to be transitioned before that date.
The first step in any migration is knowing what you have. And that's where most organizations hit a wall, because until now, only admins could browse the Legacy Custom Pages list. If you had 200 users across 50 projects, each with their own private custom pages, the only people who could see what existed were the admins who probably didn't create them.
It's like trying to pack for a move when only the landlord can open the closets.
What Changed
Now every Rally user can access the Legacy Custom Pages view to search and see the custom pages they have access to:
- Project admins can view and edit pages shared across all projects they manage
- Regular users can see their own private custom pages
- Subscription and workspace admins still see everything (as before)
This means the people who actually built those apps, the team leads, the power users, the person who made that one burndown chart in 2019 that everyone still relies on, can now see their own stuff and help figure out what matters and what doesn't.
What You Should Do Right Now
If you're a Rally admin planning for the October transition, here's the play:
- Tell your users this exists. Most people don't read release notes. Send a quick message letting your teams know they can now see their Legacy Custom Pages.
- Ask them to flag what's critical. Not every custom page matters. Some were built for a project that ended three years ago. Some are load-bearing walls. Your users know the difference, you probably don't.
- Start building your migration inventory. The earlier you know what needs to be rewritten for Custom Views, the smoother your October transition will be.
