Rally shipped over 20 features in the first quarter of 2026, and most of them landed in the Custom Views platform. If you've been waiting for Custom Views to feel like a real dashboard builder, this is the quarter it started to get there.

Here's what matters most.

Move Widget

You can finally reorder widgets inside a Custom View. Previously, rearranging your dashboard meant deleting a widget and recreating it in the right spot. Now you just move it. Small feature, big quality-of-life improvement for anyone who builds dashboards.

Endorsed Widgets

Broadcom introduced a new tier of widgets, built by Rally's own team, delivered as Custom HTML, and open source on GitHub. Six so far:

  • Blocked Work
  • Context Text Field Editor
  • PI Cycle Time Chart
  • Recent Activity
  • Test Set Results by Iteration
  • Timebox Dashboard

These follow the same Custom HTML Widget pattern that WidgetAI is built on. Drop them in, or read the source to see how Rally's team builds widgets.

Color-Coded Tags

Tags now support color coding across the Rally UI. A nice visual upgrade for teams that rely on tags for categorization.

Burnup / Burndown Filters

Widget-level view filters are now available on Burnup and Burndown charts. Gives teams more accurate timebox data without creating separate views for every filter combination.

Rally Anywhere 1.5

On-premise Rally is now generally available via Kubernetes deployment. If you're in government, financial services, or defense, and compliance rules out SaaS, Broadcom is keeping on-prem viable. Not just a checkbox, either: Kubernetes-native means it actually scales.

What We've Already Covered

We wrote standalone posts on several Q1 features earlier this quarter:

Everything Else

Q1 also shipped: Copy Widget, Full Page Mode, Progress Widget enhancements, Custom Board sorting, Planning Board query improvements, Custom List export, Scope Change widget, AI Query Assistant, Widget Developer Role, Detail Editor field control, Bulk User Permissions, Mandatory SSO, Cost Accounting audit, AI Artifact Breakdown, and Team Planning Page enhancements.

The Bigger Picture

This is the most investment Rally has put into Custom Views since the platform launched. Move Widget, Endorsed Widgets, and the Widget Developer Role all signal that Broadcom is serious about making Custom Views the long-term home for custom Rally experiences.

With App SDK and Custom Pages reaching end of life in October, the timing isn't accidental.
